Brothers David “The Baron” Shepard and Paul Shepard join forces in T-ROOSTERS! They bring a Unique Sensibility and a Unique Sound to the world — a Contrapuntal Soup, synthesizing thousands of influences and birthing a nevertheless indivisible, irresistible, unsinkable Unbelievable Whole. From Swamp Yankee funeral-folk at Bard College to Sleepless art-rap fusion in Washington Heights, to nine-minute hard-gospel stomps in Cazenovia — theirs is a core so hard, it is a core of stone; theirs is a sincerity of feeling rivaled only by the greatest of our dear planet’s ancient and authorless folk music; theirs is a Timeless Imagination and a Breathless Sensitivity which (though rare in our unfortunate age) are necessary for real art.
Paul is a published poet, cashier, and sorcerer, and he holds a B.A. in literature. David is a freelance music-promoter and diplomat, and he holds a B.S. in physics and astronomy. They live and work in Massachusetts. Both have been busily playing and writing music from the time of late childhood, and for each there is other musical projects (both past and current). They are members of the critically acclaimed and very active Basement-Folk-Rock phenomenon, “The Artpunk Band,” based in Upstate New York. Their debut album on Psychedelevator is Interstellar Pig, which was produced by Willy D.
