Electronics are exploited with reckless abandon, the song structures are haphazard but organic, the vocal layers are devoid of meaning, and the drum beats are mechanically absurd. Tactical Lisp presents its first full-length album, Emergence. This epic discourse in electronic sound defies genre classification, combining the hyperswung rhythms and thunderous sub bass of dubstep with quirky chiptune melodic tendencies and hip hop sampling aesthetics. Huge synths mingle freely with dainty bleeps and bloops and found sound percussion. Vocal samples cavort with synths masquerading as voices. Each song creates a brand new sound world, yet the album is held together by recurring themes: groovy beats, absurd pauses, psychedelic experimentation, and a keen sense of humor.
