Asyna Asayn

Bio

Asyna Asayn is balance. Balance in emotions, actions, life, and thus, in music. We aim to balance sonic comfort and technical exploration within the compositional, recording, and performance stages of our music making. When we write, we write from the heart, then we find interesting intellectual twists to turn on the material while it is being developed, and again when we are producing the sounds for listeners. We are about exploration while still being honest, and knowing where the line is.

Asyna Asayn was created in the summer of 2009 when Sarah Fylak and James Staub first collaborated musically. After a spontaneous writing session between the two in New Jersey on the 4th of July, the prospect of forming a serious musical project became very real.

In the following months the two continued writing together in Boston as Asyna Asayn, experimenting and navigating the middle ground between their widely varying backgrounds.
Having written a number of songs while honing in on a definitive style, Asyna Asayn became solidified in Spring of 2010 with the addition of Jon Grabowski and later Zack Zukowski. The new membership has brought the band closer to a developing distinctive sound identity.

Genre: Cosmic Espionage Folk-core
